ในหมู่บ้านชาวประมงเล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งในเซบู ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ ซึ่งกำลังเผชิญกับทรัพยากรทางทะเลที่ลดน้อยลงและฤดูร้อนที่เลวร้าย หญิงชราคนหนึ่งไม่ยอมทานยาตามที่หมอสั่งเพื่อช่วยครอบครัวประหยัดเงิน จนโรคหลอดเลือดสมองกำเริบ ลูกๆ ของเธอจึงต้องฝ่าพายุนอกฤดูพาเธอไปรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลเล็กๆ ของหมู่บ้าน

In a small fishing barangay in Cebu facing the dwindling resources of the sea and an unforgiving summer, an elderly woman skips her vital medicine to spare her financially struggling family. When she suffers a stroke, her two children must race against an off-season storm and an inadequate healthcare system to save her life.
