UP AND GONE (Muendaw Kamontum / 15 min / 2025 / Thailand)

Fine-mesh fishing nets can bring in enormous profits overnight, but beneath that promise lies a devastating cost. The nets indiscriminately capture marine life, disrupt fragile ecosystems and threaten the relationship between people and the sea. Through the lives of those connected to the water, the film reflects on what is lost when a livelihood comes at the expense of the ecosystem that sustains it.

On the island of Timor, wild honey has long been a vital source of livelihood for rural communities. But increasingly unpredictable rainy and dry seasons are disrupting bee ecosystems and reducing honey yields. As nature changes around them, a community leader works to preserve the traditional rituals and knowledge that have connected people, forests and bees for generations.

“Yin,” a graphic designer in Bangkok, lives under the constant pressure of work, traffic, pollution, and the exhausting pace of the city, causing him to overlook his mother’s care. As stress builds, it leads to a heated argument, pushing him to question what is missing in his life and ultimately decide to return to his family.

"ยิน" ทำงานเป็นกราฟิกดีไซเนอร์ในกรุงเทพมหานคร เขาใช้ชีวิตท่ามกลางความกดดันจากงาน รถติด มลพิษ และสภาพเมืองที่บั่นทอนเขาในทุก ๆ วัน จนทำให้ยินละเลยความห่วงใยจากแม่ กระทั่งความเครียดจากทุกสิ่งนำไปสู่การทะเลาะกันครั้งรุนแรง ทำให้เขาเริ่มตั้งคำถามถึงสิ่งที่ขาดหายไป และตัดสินใจกลับไปหาครอบครัวอีกครั้ง
