CCCL is the first film festival in Southeast Asia dedicated to climate change cinema. The festival aims to create accessible spaces for climate storytelling for the general public, with a particular focus on children and youth, who are among the groups most affected by the climate crisis. CCCL has consistently worked to expand its screening activities through collaborations with micro cinemas, educational institutions, and local networks in various regions. This effort led to the first official Satellite Screenings program in 2025, organized as part of the 5th CCCL Festival, held from 17 to 23 February 2025.
The program provided opportunities for a wide range of audiences, especially children and youth in Bangkok and other provinces, to access the festival’s short films more broadly. This was achieved through partnerships with schools, universities, micro cinemas, and volunteer youth groups within local communities. CCCL supported the initiative by providing curated short film programs at no cost. A total of 24 partner venues in 16 provinces nationwide participated, including Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan, Phayao, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Phanom, Chanthaburi, Chonburi, Krabi, Pattani, Trang, Songkhla, Pathum Thani, and Bangkok. The activities reached more than 1,800 participants.
