This year’s festival adopted the theme “Kalunga,” a word from the East Sumba language meaning the growth of plants. It symbolizes the continuous force of transformation in life and the branching pathways that strengthen the ecosystem, reflecting the steadily growing filmmaking community in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

In addition to short films selected by CCCL and curated programmes from international festivals, such as the Festival International du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand, the festival also featured a wide range of activities, including conversations with Indonesian filmmakers and film industry professionals, workshops for emerging filmmakers, and a short film pitching session.
