การันตร์ ทำงานเป็นจิตแพทย์อยู่ที่โรงพยาบาลสวนปรุง จ.เชียงใหม่ เขาเริ่มสนใจการทำหนังสั้นมาตั้งแต่ตอนเรียนแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 1 ผลงานแรกที่ได้รางวัลคือ ภาพยนตร์สั้นเรื่อง “เป่า ยิ้ง ฉุบ” จากโครงการ Rule of Law ปีที่ 4 ร่วมกับ สำนักงานกิจการยุติธรรม สมาคมผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ไทย และมูลนิธิฟรีดริช เนามัน โดยประเด็นที่การันตร์สนใจคือ Psychological Thriller โดยเขามีความฝันว่าสักวันหนึ่ง เขาจะได้กำกับภาพยนตร์ขนาดยาวและออกฉายให้คนวงกว้างได้ชม และสนุกไปกับเรื่องที่เล่า

Karant works as a psychiatrist at Suan Prung Hospital in Chiang Mai. He became interested in making short films during his first year of medical school. His first award-winning work was the short film Rock Paper Scissors, which he created for the 4th Rule of Law Project in collaboration with the Office of Justice Affairs, the Thai Film Directors Association, and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. Karant is particularly drawn to the genre of psychological thrillers. He dreams that one day he will direct a feature film that reaches a wide audience, allowing people to enjoy the stories he tells.
