This short documentary follows 11-year-old Kentaro, the first child born in 25 years in the remote mountainous village of Kawakami. After the Great Japanese Earthquake, Miho and Hiro Yokobori left Tokyo to start anew in this isolated community, bringing hope to a village grappling with Japan’s ageing population and declining birth rates. Through Kentaro’s daily life, the film explores rural living, his bond with nature, and the balance between preserving heritage and embracing a hopeful future.
