Salih Özderya
Salih was born in 1977 in Trabzon, northeast of Turkey. He graduated from Selcuk University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. While still a student, he took his first step into directing on University Television. He continued his professional life first in Istanbul and then in Ankara. He worked as a producer and director. He directed the documentary "Abdulhamid II" and the program "Friends Lights of Istanbul" for TRT. He implemented the "Spirit of Cities", "Stockholm Train", "One Century, One Sycamore" projects. He shot his first feature-length documentary, Faces and Steps, in 2018, and his first short film, Maden, in 2021. Faces and Steps won the award for best feature documentary at the Australian Muslim Film Festival. His screenplay, Stage 4, was granted support by the Republic of Turkey General Directorate of Cinema in 2021. He lives in Ankara and continues his independent film work.
